Selim Evci - Biography
He was born in Istanbul, Turkey, 1975. After graduating from Maltepe University with a cinema degree in 2003, he enrolled to the master program in the Division of Cinema at Beykent University, Istanbul. He gave lessons in Istanbul University and workshops at Koc University, Istanbul. Currently, he serves as an executive member of IFSAK (Istanbul Photographers and Cinema Amateurs' Association) and the director of International Anuual Akbank Short Film Festival. He founded and is an instructor at the IFSAK Short Film Workshop whilst holding an advisor position at Akbank Short Film Workshop. He founded Evci Film Production in 2006. He is currently teaching short film production lessons at Maltepe University. He has written, directed, produced and edited his first feature film “İki Çizgi" (Two Lines) which has made its world premiere at 65th Venice International Film Festival - 23rd International Film Critics’ Week. "Two Lines" also screened festivals such as Rotterdam, Montpellier, Moscow, Cairo, İstanbul. He directed his second feature “Winds” (Rüzgarlar) and it was supported by the Hubert Bals Fund.
